Calorie Challenge – Helping the Rugby and Sport Community
As part of our community support programme, we were very happy to support the Calorie Challenge alongside our partners Old Albanian RFC and MyMealAway. We provide technical support to the initiative so it had the very best platform that gave it the best chance to succeed.
The first Calorie Challenge was run on the 11th July 2020. It raised £1,500+ for 3 great causes through the efforts of 150+ people from 11 different clubs, and it was a great event.
The next event is planed for 5th September 20202. This event will be similar to previous ones with the aim being to exercise and burn as many calories as possible in a 24 hours period and raise money for charity. The difference this time is that it will be open to individuals, teams and clubs to enter, which will include all levels and individuals from clubs.
The RFU covered the first Calorie Challenge and it will be covering the next event.
James Osborn, our MD at Flexiion MSP, and Director of Rugby at Old Albanians RFC, explained: “The first event in July was well received. I think all those who participated saw it has a fun way of adding to their keep-fit activity during lock down. We fully expect the next event to be just as successful as rugby players and others look to return to more ‘normal’ fitness routines.”
